The Kia EV9 is DrivingElectric Car of the Year 2024
Kia’s new electric flagship wins big at DrivingElectric’s annual awards ceremony
The all-new Kia EV9 has been awarded the prestigious title of 2024 DrivingElectric Car of the Year in this year’s annual DrivingElectric Awards.
Also snagging the award for Best Premium Electric Car, the Kia EV9 thoroughly impressed the DrivingElectric panel of expert judges: “The Kia EV9 alters the electric landscape, offering huge space and a premium feel – all at a sub-premium price. No EV offers this kind of practicality for the money.”
Going on sale in the UK in 2023, the Kia EV9 sits as the new flagship model of the South Korean maker’s line-up and is offered with up to seven seats. Range stands at a competitive 349 miles on Rear-Wheel Drive models, with all EV9 examples getting ultra-rapid charging, a tri-screen infotainment system and an industry-leading seven-year warranty.
Thrilled with the results, boss of Kia UK, Paul Philpott, said: “The EV9 was already one of the most anticipated cars of 2023, and our UK dealer partners have received more interest in this car ahead of launch than almost any other Kia vehicle to date.
“Our new flagship EV takes Kia into a new segment, and puts us up against some very keen competition. But our established reputation as an electrification leader makes this an entirely natural – and hotly awaited – next step for the brand, and we're delighted to see the car recognised already by DrivingElectric for what it offers customers."
