Vauxhall Combo Electric gets sharp new look and range boost for 2024

The small electric van now sports Vauxhall’s signature ‘Vizor’ grille and offers 205-mile range

The Vauxhall Combo Electric has received a series of significant upgrades for 2024, following parent company Stellantis’ announcement it would be overhauling its entire commercial vehicle line-up and bring them under the banner of its new ‘Pro One’ brand.

Perhaps the biggest change is Combo Electric’s new, significantly sharper-looking front end that incorporates the ‘Vizor’ grille design from Vauxhall’s passenger cars such as the Astra, Mokka and facelifted Corsa. The interior has also been updated, with Vauxhall adding a new 10-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, plus a 10-inch digital driver’s display. Behind the new steering wheel are paddles that allow the driver to adjust the strength of the regenerative braking on the fly.

The 50kWh battery pack is the same size as before, but Vauxhall has made some improvements to the power pack and drivetrain that’s boosted the van’s range from 171 to 205 miles. To help preserve that range in colder months, a heat pump is now standard-fit. Power output is unchanged at 134bhp with 270Nm of torque, as is the 100kW maximum charging speed that allows the Renault Kangoo rival to top up from 0-80% in less than 30 minutes.

The Combo Electric is available in two body lengths, the longer of which offers up to 4.4 cubic metres of cargo storage, while the van’s maximum payload capacity stands at 780kg. It also boasts a 750kg towing capacity, and can be had with either a two or three-seat cab layout.

Prices for the new Combo Electric start from £28,550 (excluding VAT), with buyers offered the choice of two trim levels: Prime and Pro. Base models are equipped with the two 10-inch displays we mentioned earlier, plus LED matrix headlights, rear parking sensors, automatic headlight control and a comfort driver’s seat with lumbar adjustment.

Pro specification adds power folding door mirrors, a load-through bulkhead, underseat storage and ‘Dynamic Surround Vision’. This allows the driver to view an image of the rear or the van’s blind spots via a digital rear-view mirror. Full specs and prices for the new Combo Electric will be announced when order books open towards the end of the year.
