New hybrid engine for Clio leads 2022 Renault updates
Evolution, Techno and R.S. Line trim levels also introduced to range
Renault has announced 2022 model-year updates for its compact Clio supermini and Captur SUV, including a more powerful engine for the hybrid version of the Clio and a revamped set of trim levels for both cars.
The new 'E-TECH 145' setup replaces the outgoing 'E-TECH 140' in the Clio hybrid, boosting power output slightly from 138 to 143bhp and promising CO2 emissions as low as 96g/km, compared to a minimum of 99g/km before.
The car's trim-level line-up has also been revamped; it now consists of Evolution, Techno and R.S. Line specifications. Evolution replaces Iconic Edition and adds a seven-inch colour instrument display to its predecessor's haul of kit.
Techno replaces SE Edition and brings dark-tinted rear windows, chrome detailing and a shark-fin antenna. Inside, the interior is refreshed with grey accents, as well as dark-grey pinstriped upholstery. R.S. Line tops the range with features including 9.3-inch 'EASY LINK' infotainment and a 10-inch colour instrument display.
The same three trim levels have also been applied to the Captur range for 2022; here, the Evolution gets 17-inch 'Ediris' diamond-cut alloy wheels and automatic air-conditioning as standard. Techno boasts an enhanced exterior with shark-fin antenna, while R.S. Line adds a 10-inch colour instrument display like the equivalent version of the Clio.
