Big price cut: Electric Renault Megane prices slashed in time for Christmas
Renault Megane E-Tech gets a price drop of up to £3,500, bringing the starting price to just £34,495
With only one day to go until December, Renault has decided to slash the price of its Megane electric family hatchback, with savings of up to £3,500.
The Renault Megane E-Tech sits below the larger and newer Renault Scenic and above the smaller Renault ZOE supermini in the French brand’s EV line-up and is available in three trim levels: Equilibre, Techno+ and Iconic.
Now starting from just £34,495, the entry-level Renault Megane Equilibre is roughly £2,500 cheaper than before, and around £2,000 less than an entry-level Peugeot E-2008. Standard kit is strong, with even this base model getting 18-inch alloys, LED lights, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a nine-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats and a reversing camera.
The mid-spec Techno+ now costs £36,495 – £3,000 less than before – and is our pick of the range. Upgrading to this adds larger 20-inch wheels, Google Maps sat-nav and other Google-related services to the infotainment system, upgraded upholstery, adaptive cruise control, a heated steering wheel and a heat pump to aid efficiency during the colder months.
Finally, the range-topping Renault Megane Iconic models are now £3,500 cheaper than before, starting from just under £40,000 (£38,495). Opting for the top model nets you F1-inspired gold accents, a Harman Kardon sound system and several driver assistance features like a digital rear-view mirror, blind spot monitoring and a 360-degree camera system.
No matter which version you choose, all Renault Megane E-Tech examples get a 60kWh battery pack, alongside a 217bhp front-mounted electric motor. This provides a range of 280 miles and a 0-62mph time of seven-and-a-half seconds. A 10-80% top-up can also be completed in as little as 30 minutes thanks to standard 130kW rapid charging.
The new, lower Renault Megane prices are live on the brand’s website now, with the larger Scenic expected to go on sale in the new year.
